LONDON: Former England captain Kevin Pietersen has hailed Rahul Dravid‘s affect on his batting, saying the legendary Indian’s recommendation on easy methods to play spin opened up a “entire new world” for him.
Pietersen stated his Indian Premier League experiences, batting alongside world-class gamers equivalent to Dravid and Virender Sehwag, helped him increase his repertoire of photographs.
Pietersen performed for varied IPL groups just like the erstwhile Deccan Chargers, Delhi Daredevils, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
“Dravid wrote me essentially the most stunning e-mail, explaining the artwork of taking part in spin and ever since then it was a complete new world,” the previous England batting star stated.
“The important thing level was searching for the size as quickly because the ball was delivered – look forward to the spinner and make your resolution,” the 40-year-old was quoted as saying by ‘Sky Sports activities’ throughout a dialogue on how one-day batting has developed over time.
Throughout his 10 years as an England participant, from 2004 to 2014, Pietersen was one of many world’s most explosive batsmen — notably in limited-overs cricket.
He scored 8181 runs from 104 Exams at a mean of 47.28. From 136 ODIs, he hit 4440 at a mean of 40.73.
Pietersen stated his famed switch-hit was partly the product of hours spent taking part in squash as a teenager.
